State Review?

Someone should call the state EPA who have had Braintree on their sh_ _ list for the past few years with a consent decree ordering the town to eliminate storm water from entering the sewer system and the problems we've had with our drinking water to boot. They should have a say in how Braintree, ah hmm, is meeting their reparations of resolving these issues. Throwing millions at the problems while doing the same in hiring unqualified supervisors as well under the good old boy network. Give us a break! Selectmen, show some backbone and call for a thorough review!!!! We're waiting.

Scandal akin to Quincy's

The 'Maya'wants to appoint Asst. City Solicitor Jay McRitchie as Executive Director for the Quincy Housing Authority. McRitchie, a career civil court attorney who has never even managed his own law office is the Knight in Shining Armor to resolve the QHA's state receivership orders? State and Feds are threatening to withhold housing grants to the QHA if this Maya persists. Hmm, could it be that McRitchie is finagling a ''last three years'' golden parachute by grabbing this $120,000/year directorship so his pension will be $96,000 instead of about $60,000 if he stayed as Asst. City Solicitor? AND you people think Quincy's Mayorship is the solution to Braintree's problems! It's give and take all the way here, there and everywhere.

Hey Bernie conjure up an

Idea to our form of Government dilemma, ?“you people think Quincy's Mayorship is the solution to Braintree's problems! It's give and take all the way here, there and everywhere?”!

O.K. that?’s your point of view, what in your estimation is a viable alternative to our present form of Government, one the state will approve.

One possible start is to petition the legislature for relief from the special status of BELD and to relegate it to just another town department. Could someone research the origin of the creation of BELD and language that supports it from the General Laws..

What is the legal liability of the town directly owning and operating BELD as an company?

I am sure there are pros and cons to that motion, what are they? What is BELD?’s total
profits and how will they impact the towns revenue stream if redirected into the towns coffers in total?

What are thy state politics surrounding BELD? Have they any advocates in the state house to prevent such a move by Braintree government?

Next problem and much more difficult, what can be done about the school?’s department
special budgetary powers, what is the root to the general laws supporting their autonomy?

If the funding of the schools were removed from the towns to the state to support
that would remove the immediate burden, but the state would never support that move without
something in it for them.

The school system is the major fiscal problem in Braintree and will continue to be into the far future, even if we were able to capture BELD funds as an annuity stream the school system would totally consume them in the short order!

By the way in my estimation the state is the cause of all of our problems with its
political machinations and hidden agenda!

Enough, someone else, please
