When they lash out its not intended to be personal just part of their argument style, some would call it childishness and crude, just talk around the ruse, if you are offended and say so, then you lose, rules of the game.

Be offended but sharpen your retort and wear them down with reason, style or vocabulary
if they can?’t understand they will complain and retreat!
