Interesting decision
Interesting move for Powers. I think he would have been better off staying away from elected politics for a few more years, sitting on the sidelines but involved in the community. I think he has a good reputation, the only knowck on him is that he runs for everything. Is it about helping Braintree or do does he crave the attention?
Jumping back this soon makes me wonder. If he loses, I think he's done for a while. If he wins, he has top be Selectman. Does anyone remember someone who left that office with a good reputation?

How about Carl Johnson,sr.
Where have you been TMM12 we have been waiting for more of your expose on the machinations of Town government ,Townie (the elder) has been filling in your absence and
has been doing a credible job exposing all of the machinations of town government.
The latest tax mystery in town is as always the mysterious school system, those of the unending
demand for more of Braintree?’s revenue. The school union, BEA will/has demanded more money for 2005 and at a simultaneous fincom/school committee meeting announced the May town meeting will be the venue to ask for more town money. The school system will pay out the increase in salary?’s new out of the funds they have on hand, the contract hasn?’t been approved by town meeting bet they are acting as if it was a done deal, how can this be, do they get to approve their own union contract and tell us, the town, to pay the bill with an forced prop 2.5 override?
We, the town, needs to regain control over these runaway school salaries with a salary cap on Teachers/Administrators/Aids compensations, the way its managed now is fiscal madness.

Johnson? No Way Jose`
Atty. Carl R. Johnson is Jr., not Senior. Senior has passed away after serving Braintree as former firefighter, former Town Clerk, former State Representative, former Clerk to House of Representatives and good buddy of J.F.K.
Carl R. Jr. is FX's new barrister of applications for approvals to expand our lack of open space and quality developments. Carl R. Jr. serves as Town Meeting Member, member, Community Preservation Committee; member, Braintree Historical Commission and probably more. Served as member, School Reconstruction Committee that cost town $1.2 million dollars (next year is final $450,000 payment on that bonded loan)to learn how to build new schools and repair some others THAT NEVER GOT TO FIRST BASE after the architects made their pudding dishes here with their $120,000,000 estimate how to resolve our decaying schools. He's the Plaza's top barrister for local legal issues with our town. Carl R. Jr. used to be a Selectman years ago, but wasn't making enough money doing that gig.
It's all about money!
