Truck traffic question

Posted in: Braintree
Has the Commercial Traffic Review Committee entered into any formal or informal agreements with companies in Braintree to restrict truck traffic from Elm/Hayward Streets?

I can't image that all of these truck drivers suddenly decided to start using Union Street at the same time without some prodding from somewhere.

If such agreements or discussions exist, should they be made public?

The committee has not entered into any type of agreement w/ any truckers or trucking companies, formal or informal, to use or avoid any streets in Braintree. The committee has forwarded a study to MA Highway to ban all trucks on Union,Elm and Hayward, unless they have business on those streets. I belive you can get a copy of the report at town hall. There have been several traffic counts on these streets and according to these counts no significant shift of commercial traffic was noticed. All committee meetings are public and dates posted at town hall.
