Town of Braintree

How dare he....

Posted in: Braintree
How dare the President of the United States.. (our leader).. suggest that we put our flags at half mast for a nation far removed from ours.. who by the way have recently insisted that we remove ourselves from Indonesian airspace.. instead of putting the flags at half staff for our dying men in Iraq and Afghanistan.. Not my flag.. Now you can kick this around as much as you want.. but I would not lower my flag for Indonesia.. nay.. I would lower mine for our troops..
Beggers shouldn't be choosers

They have insisted that we remove ourselves from Indonesian airspace
we should take our carrier and people and aid and leave.

By They don't want us there ,fine.
Free money

Which makes me wonder would any of those countries jack up the number of the victims so they could get more free money?

And why do we have to be the leader of everything? Can some other countries take charge? Sick of being the world police and handing out free money.

Screw everybody else, take care of our own first.

New Years Day --
dad sits in his recliner
reading last year's paper

sunny morning
a dewdrop holds
the universe

birthday balloons
the one doesn't burst
floats away

swallowed by
its shadow
the egret at dusk

Chilly windows
light passes away
on tangerines

Cold day--
the fingers more stiff
this year
.
late autumn leaves
emerging with first light
old stone Buddha

With blue-shadowed snow
deep in the
hut's windows --
the setting sun's glow

A mountain temple --
echoed from the
deeps of snow
a sound of a bell

the silence without
talking with silence within
flame of a candle

Weathered gray boards
Tired of being a house
Curl away from wall

swallowed by
its shadow
the egret at dusk

fish
you eat first
then I will

winter dawn ?…
sound of someone pulling
hay from the haystack

honking geese
in a flying W
after the election

.
First calligraphy --
footprints of
children and birds
through the fresh snow
