This was on the web today:
This is from the American Civil Liberties Union's Web page on free speech:
It is probably no accident that freedom of speech is the first freedom mentioned in the First Amendment: ''Congress shall make no law . . . abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press, or of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.'' The Constitution's framers believed that freedom of inquiry and liberty of expression were the hallmarks of a democratic society.
Not to slight the importance of free speech, which we happily exercise every day, but the ACLU has edited out freedom of religion, which comes ahead of speech.
Gee, how could the ACLU have done that. Must have been a typo. Funny how the ACLU will edit things just to advance their agenda. Maybe the ACLU should remember that it's freedom OF religion not freedom FROM religion.

AHH... SO
It is freedom of religion AND freedom from religion as our framers intended. Funny how you interpret the ACLU's point aabout free speech to suit your agenda.
If you actually knew some history about the ACLU other than what you're taught by the likes of Rush ''oxy'' Limbaugh and Bill O'Really you would know the ACLU has regularly defended Americans when the government has obstructed a free practice of their religion.

Hi frank,
Nice to have you back posting again. Must be election time again. What are you running for this time? You can be a memeber of the ACLU, that's your right as an american. My right as an american is to call them for what they are. A left wing anti american group. You can be a member of a group that defends NAMBLA members. Or defends the rights of a student in Pennsylvania to get up at lunch time in his school, and call the principal a tramp and a whore and question the sexual orientation of the vice principal of that same school. The ACLU's opinion, that's not hate speech, that's the students right of free speech. But when a teacher in Wisconsin was told by her principal and later by the school committee, that she would not be allowed to wear a cross on her clothing while in school, even though she never preached or talked about her religion, her right of free speech fell on deaf ears at the ACLU. Her right of FREEDOM OF RELIGION wasn't on the ACLU's agenda. Frank, you know and I know that if she were an atheist, the ACLU would have been there to defend her en mass. Frank, it must have driven you crazy when the ACLU was going to help defend Rush Limbaugh. How close did you come to burning your member card? Oh, by the way, the teacher I mentioned above, she hired her own lawyer(thanks ACLU), argued her case in court, and she won. The courts ruled the principal and the school committee had violated her right to free speech. So as an american, you can be a member of a group that tells us that God and Christmas, and Christmas songs and Santa Claus are bad and NAMBLA and being a member of NAMBLA is ok. That's your right.

A HUNDRED YEARS OF TREASON IN AM
A HUNDRED YEARS OF TREASON IN AMERICA
''The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism, but under the name of liberalism they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program until one day America will be a socialist nation without ever knowing how it happened.'' Norman Thomas, six-time Socialist Party presidential candidate and one of the founders of the ACLU.
Being active on a member of patriotic e-mail reflectors, I correspond with lots of good folks on a regular basis. Additionally, I?’ve made friends with a number of people who wrote me concerning past rants of mine. One question that many ask is ''How could this be happening in America?''
The classroom is open; ''Treason 101'', starts now!----By: Mel Young
From the title of this rant, it should be obvious that I dare to suggest that America has been ''had'' for over a century by a vast conspiracy that uses lies, deceit, and masterful tactics to achieve it?’s goals towards the destruction of our Republic. For the most part, Americans have fallen for the various charades, hook, line and sinker. Why? Because, Norman Thomas was right on the money. ''Political-Correctness'' has been a tool of our enemies for well over a century and most sheeple still don?’t ''get it''!
