According to the source, in California, the Democrats have the most recent nominees for U.S. House and Senate select the electors (whether or not they won their election). The California Republicans have a committee that includes recent nominees for state offices, legislators and other party officials.

Information for this table comes from:

Thomas M. Durbin and Michael V. Seitzinger, Nomination and Election of the President and Vice President of the United States (Washington, DC, 1980)
as quoted as Appendix C in
Walter Berns, editor, After the People Vote (Washington, DC, 1983).

About the electoral college

About the electoral college, the way it works is as he described it!
It was put in place to preserve the integrity of the voting process!
Without the college If the larger states banded together they could decide an election between them and leave the other states out of the decision making process! If the smaller states had no say in an election, there goes America! The population moves about to a greater extent in America than any country in the world, people for employment, retirement, recreation move from state to state, winter and summer From sheer boredom! The makeup of a states population
and changes are factored into the college! Population density determines the number of representatives each has in congress and that dictates the number of electoral votes!
After the election is over and the winner is announced but unknown by most Americans
the election is not over! The results of the election are not valid until after the electoral college votes and approves the general election results!
