It's Because
the Canadian and Eurpean systems don't work. I remember reading a story on the net about a woman who was treated for breast cancer. When the cancer returned in her other breast she waited 45 days to see a surgeon. She then had to wait 15 additional days before she had surgery. If you're facing cancer a second time, do you want to wait 60 days for treatment? If this were your wife, mother, or sister, I don't think you would. In Toronto, a doctor told a reporter that he repeatedly sends his patients to America for treatment. Because treatment takes to long to get in Canada. And finally, my sister in law is from Nova Scotia, and this summer, she and my brother went north for a vacation. My brother was telling me that during conversations with some of his wifes friends, health care Canadian style came up. A gentleman told my brother that in Canada, when you get sick you make two phone calls. One to the doctor. The other one to the undertaker. In most cases, he said, you'll be talking to the undertaker first. You'll never hear back from the doctor. Their system won't work here. But that doesn't mean that we shouldn't try to make things work better.
