Tax Bills

Posted in: Braintree
Did anyone else here that our tax bills were going to be increased because we are going to be, once again, reassessed to 100 per cent.

I must have misunderstood when I watched the Selectmen's meeting, the commercial property was going to be increased, but the residential was not. Now I hear that we are also going to have an increase for our assessment and the tax bills will increase accordingly.

Does anyone know anything about this?

listed at Patriot Properties. Could be that they haven't entered any new assessments though. Anyone know what our actual tax rate is this year?
Repy to: Tax Bills

Taxes for commercial and residential properties will see an increase this year even though the residential properties value increased greater than commercial properties. I think the increase is around 3 per cent.

Residential tax rate is $8.38 per thousand of valuation for FY 05. Although we are not in a reval yr. most residential assessments will be increasing, maybe l0%, maybe l8%, maybe more. Our bills were mailed Friday last, you may want to scrutinize yours for you have only the month of January to apply for an abatement, if you feel your property is over-valued. Ask yourself if you can sell your home for the amount assessed, if you can than you are not over-valued.
