Wouldn't it be more efficient if the DPW housed the garage for all the town vehicles? Consolidate the Park department, Fire, and Police. Perhaps a few more departments could join the group.
The Fire Department doesn't need unmarked vehicles. Whoever is using the ''old'' SUV needs to get a lesson in discretion.
The BOS could have secured the new vehicle for the chief in a more timely fashion. The chief could have waited a few days. Maybe there would be more money in the budget if they used their vehicles a little longer. If there aren't any fires, how much abuse could these vehicles possibly take?
Maybe we should consider a residency requirement for hiring and staying on the job. That idea should turn a few heads.
