Good Cop??
Bad cop.. Whats with you people ..I myself sigh everytime MrONeil comes to the podium. But I feel he brings a different prospective everytime he comes forward.. Right or wrong its his RIGHT to be there and say what he will.. I feel that this form of government needs members who have different ideas than I do ...He stirs things up. You can tell hes not a fan of town government .. Neither am I, he just causes you to see things from other perspectives. Im not praising him, Im just saying people like Mr ONeil are good for goverment. And it is his right to question the Chief if he wants.. I dont feel he was disrespectful.. He wanted answers and the chief like it or not works for us!!If I was asking someone for 30,000 Id expect questions. As I would think you would also Question??? Why if its so important didnt the chief ask for the monies himself.??? Like say.. Mr Egan had the stones to get up and speak for his own cause. As Allways DMM By DMM |

Bill O'neil uuuuggghh
I to, try to crawl under my seat every time Bill walks to the podium. It's not what he says but how he says it. He always seems to have a LARGE chip on his shoulder. He is really an embarrassment. People in my precinct who watch the meetings have told me thats what they think. (Arrogant rude etc.) So Mr. O'Neil please get a personality change. By Sweet Dreams |

A response
I did not disrespect Mr. Joyce I only addressed him by name when responding to his assertions. This is a violation of decorum and I apologized to Mr. Joyce after the meeting and had a pleasant conversation with him. He is a gentleman and has served this town well. He did not take offense why should you? As far as disrespecting the Fire Chief I only questioned what goes on in his department. That is what I was elected to do. There is a great deal of concern in town over the excessive number of Deputy Chiefs and overtime abuse at the Fire Dept. Everyone grumbles about it but no one speaks up. I made a joke about the department Dalmatian becoming a Deputy Chief before his retirement to increase his retirement income. Ridiculing this wanton abuse of the system is a useful method for dramatizing the outrageousness of such cozy arrangements. As far as my questioning of the purchase of a new SUV I only ask how does a vehicle that should never or rarely leave town get 158,000 miles on it in five years? Don?’t you think that excessive? I drove a company vehicle for the last 4 years covering all of New England and I racked up 98000 miles in that time. When ever someone questions the status quo in this town they get labeled a trouble maker. When I questioned Mr. Egan?’s Town Manager proposal he was the one who started jawing at me while I had the floor. Mr. Egan should read Roberts Rules and learn what a point of order is. He shouldn?’t cry about a point of order because someone disagrees with him. Thin skinned people in town government are a big part of the problem. Do I have a big ego? Sure I do, just ask my wife. I am also observant and well studied in government and politics. My crime is being direct. While I will try and avoid using someone?’s name at the TM podium and will attempt to refrain from being drawn in to an exchange with the likes of Mr. Egan that?’s the best I can offer as far as a personality change is concerned. As far as being direct I have no intention of changing that. I?’m sorry you and your neighbors are distressed by my actions at TM we spend 80 million of your tax dollars every year and I think it useful that there be a little more scrutiny of that. I?’m not looking to make friends I already have enough of those. Being nice and going along to get along has brought us to where we are today. See you in May. Bill O'Neill |
