I would like to thank selectmen Tim Egan for his presentation last night. We seem to be badgering our selectmen whenever we get a chance. Well Mr. Egan did something great last night. He brought a warrant to the town meeting to have a Town Manager for the town of Braintree. I think we all agree that things are changing and that it is time to move forward. I watch the selectmen meetings and I know this wasn't well received by 3 of the members. I think they were caught off guard and were not prepared for this. I commend Mr. Egan for taking the bull by the horns and get this moving. Even though it did not pass last night I think if anything came out of this is that we are going to start to communicate more about this and it will make us catch up with the times and, that Mr. Egan is realizing that the town need to change and he got everybody to talk about it. You made not agree with Mr. Egan in some of his ideas but you have to admit he did a great job on this warrant.

I agree
Tim did a wonderful job in trying to move the ball forward. We should all put more pressure on the Government Study COmmittee to insure something is presented at ATM.

Lets Keep Moving
God Bless Tim, if it wasn't for his persistance we would still be no where. At least his proposal brouht forth discussion. We all know that we HAVE to do is bit the bullet and CHANGE! We need an elected mayor and city council. The Government Study Committee should study what is working...how about Weymouth!!! Stop trying to reinvent the wheel and find a form of government that no other community has. Look at the communities that work.
Braintree is desparate for a leader. No on is in charge now and the buck just continues to be kicked around and never stops. Lets do it right and hope the Government Study Committee will propose what everyone wants and needs...a strong government that is elected by the town.

I agree but
Egan's proposal was the exact opposite of an elected Mayor and Council.
