We,my brother and I ,used

To hitch a ride on the back tow bars of
the old style street cars in Boston
when we were kids!

When we got to the old roxie theater
we would pull down the rope and the street car would stop.

We had about two seconds to start running before the conductor caught
up with us.

All we had to do to get away was to hop over a fence and lose him,If he ever caught us the cops would kick our little buts,take us home and our father would do the same thing.

They never caught us but came close a few times.
Finally gave that game up,too dangerous
to our health!

You most certainly did assume parent told child.....take a look at your post ''Now, they know and you, the parent, are the one to thank.'' And if parent did pique kids interest parent has the option of explaining or ''never mind, end of story''!

Take a look at ''oh the stupid things we used to do'' post. This person was remininicing, which I am guessing was the original point of this post, but then we've got wholes like you that have got to take everything so literally.
