The games were so evident at last night's Selectmen's meeting. Who's in whose pockets? Liquor licenses were renewed despite what appeared to be logical and long overdue attitudes against pocket licensing a favored local developer? Hmm, Charlie Gs that got it's license (covertly I might add)for a family Italian Restaurant in 1998 still is but a mere shell of a four walled building. That's called a ''pocket license''. Messina has tried to woo restauranteurs to pay his rent (Hooters, Olive Garden, etc)and the license can be swung in their favor at huge thousands of dollars for the license in return. Restaurant 1209 on Washington Street just closed its doors. That liquor license will be coveted by the building's owner, Francis X Messina for sure. Bon Panne has been looking to reopen a restaurant for three years holding on to their license each year despite not doing business. I hear Siro's/FX is nothing but FX at the site as the ''Siro's partner'' has left town has moved. Ground Round closed for a year for Appleby's coming, but no sign of activity there as well. A year lapse in use of one's license appears accceptable due to what could be extenuating circumstances. Six years holding on to a license? Our Ryan-Kokoros-McAuliffe troika on our Selectmen who also received contributions from FX for their campaigns are ''looking the other way''. I hope the ABC in Boston comes to Braintree and whacks the BOS for their dilly dally approach to good government.

Absolution
Don't absolve Egan, Hubbard, Driscoll, and Dingee who also benefitted from Frankie's ''kindness''. They too could eliminate pocket licenses but did not.
If you are going to condemn people Peter, be sure to include ALL the guilty parties. Not just those whom you clearly dislike.

If You Recall, Pius Pomp...
Yes, Hubbard and Egan were helped by FX as well, but last night, they wanted to haul FX's butt in front of them in January, then March, but were emphatically overruled by the troika! I give Joe and Tim a minor kudo to at least air it out on TV with FX and his crony attorney, Carl R. Johnson Esq. Pathetic transgressions in that the troika's vote last night reissuing licenses even to 'pocket pal' licensee Frankie puts any issue on the ''back burner''. No wonder why Frankie is taking so much time wooing Hooters to Charlie Gs location. He illegally paved over the rear parking lot behind 1209 restaurant directly next to the Monatiquot River and our ConsComishs didn't even slap his wrist. Frankie chopped down all the trees next to Armstrongs in violation of Wetlands regulations and didn't even get his wrist slapped. Frankie's one set of rules imposed and then rules and laws for everyone else. And Johnson steps up to the plate to justify these transgressions. He's as much of Braintree's problems (Town Meeting member, CPC committee member, Historic Commission member, Plaza's attorney and now Frankie's attorney). He has lost his professional scruples for sure all for the mighty buck in return.

It's easy to whack the Charlie, Chuck and Darren but Egan, Hubbard, Dingee and Driscoll are equally as guilty. They happily took the dough. Hubbard and Egan can play tough cop when they know the vote is already 3-2.
They were guilty the moment they took Frank's dirty money. No matter how you spin it.
