Recently, someone asked me, why the Bush administration is against stem cell reasearch. This is my reply:
The Bush administration as well as pro-life groups are for, Yes PRO- stem cell research. It is embryonic stem cell research that they are against. Interestingly enough, there has been absolutely no positive outcomes in embryonic stem cell research to date. On the flip side, stem cell research has made huge strides.
The push for embryonic stem cell - money. The thought process goes, whichever company can tap into the embryonic cells and have positive results, they will have virtually stopped the aging process.
Something else to consider. When a woman has an abortion- there has been a push to harvest the dead babies eggs. This may lead to the real probability of children being born whose mother never was born. Another thought, how many women who have abortions think the eggs of their dead baby may be harvested without them knowing, and sold. They did not want to be a mother, but they may become grandparents. Scarey world.

Scarey world

Is harvesting of aborted babies eggs being done now ?
Is ''science'' right now collecting his human matter and conducting research ?

After a fetus is aborted who ''owns'' the dead baby ? The mother ? The lab ?
Does the mother give up rights to her baby ?

I find your scenario very realistic and very scary and something we as a human race should not go pursue. Unfortunately if money can be made pursuing this it will be a sad day when it happens. IMHO.
Inquiring Mind

I found the original post very interesting, so I inquired...

It was explained to me that a mother who was never born could never be a grandmother because the eggs have never been produced. The egg is not produced until the young lady starts to mentuate.

I think I'm still unclear on this.

Embryonic Stem cell research is being done as we speak. Individuals who consent to have invitrofertilization can donate their unfertilized eggs for research. Institutions like Harvard have been experimenting for years. Their push for stem cell research is driven by money. They are using their own right now, but want the taxpayers to foot the bill in the future. The East Coast just lost out to California by the passage of their latest sten cell referendum. The people of California are now in a state of shock. It is politically correct to be FOR this research. The truth is it will cost a fortune and their is no proof that success is imminent. I say let Academia pay for the studies. With the speed at which they are erecting buildings and expanding they can afford it.
