Selective Override Ballot
Yes, the Selectmen can establish by vote an override that would enable voters to vote on A, B, C, D, E, F, ....and so forth proposals, each with a dollar amount. Voters could vote to approve any or all or vote against any or all on the one ballot.
Politically, Selectmen are not inclined to create a ballot this way because, hypothetically, few would vote to support higher cost items or vote to support more taxes for a new fire station, but might be inclined to vote to fix up town fields or to fix more roads or improve the interior conditions within town hall.
