History Incomplete!
The part that you fail to mention is that the leader of the free world at the time, a man who inspired the nation and the world to fight facism was the greatest liberal ever, Franklin D. Roosevelt.
In 1939-40 his efforts to prepare for the coming war were delayed and hanpered by republican opposition.

I'll give you that
Roosvelt was very much a man of his time as was Churchil.Tell me can you see any resemlence with the politicians of Europe just pryor to ww2
and a certain politician currently running for president. You need to think long and hard exactly where is going to take this country in four years time.I personaly think he would be worse then Carter.

Roosevelt Was Not Todays liberal
President Roosevelt was an old time democrat with the courage of his convictions not a liberal he was very much like Zell Miller!!!
Liberals in those days were called socialists, communists, take your pick.
Republicans of that time were largely ultra conservative and isolationists!
One thing Roosevelt saw was a way out of the great depression in the war! The president
understood economics of putting people to work! The problem was to get the people stirred up
and Pearl Harbor sure provided that, just like 9/11 does to me!

He Is Well On His Way To That
If inspiration by doing is the hallmark of a great leader Mr.Bush
is more like Teddy Roosevelt than any of the past presidents with the exception of President Regan who was even stronger!
There is nothing that makes American?’s as angry being stabbed in the back in a sneak attack!!
We as a country are not weak, we are now lazy in this some of this generation but not those
in IRAQ or Afghanistan.
Japan found to their great regret as will The Islamic back stabbers!
