QUINCY
the taxes in Quincy are out of sight, between the real estate taxes, water and sewer taxes I would much rather be living in Braintree.... the roads are in awful condition, YES they are repaving, due to a project on Furnace Brook Parkway they will have to be repaved but that will be done by the State, most of the streets are disgusting...With all the road construction due to high rises being built and streets being dug up, its like having to go half way around the world to get to your house...I pay very high taxes and yet my street wasn't plowed during the first snow storm, but thats just a given during any storm....Check out the residential rates compared to the commercial rates in the City of Quincy and i'm sure you'll see that Quincy's tax rate is out of sight... Our schools need tons of work, I would invite any of the Braintree residents to take a tour of Quincy High School to see for themselves and i'm sure you wouldn't allow your children to attend school.. Quincy is not the same City it was in the 60's and 70's..Braintree residents are fortunate that they have their own Electric Company, I would compare my light bill to what the residents of Braintree pay, when you add it all up the residents of Quincy pay alot more than the Town Of Braintree does.
