Clean Up The Island?
I believe TA Neighbor is entirely mistaken? The island at the intersection of Hobard, Lakeview and Tremont Streets is park department land. There are several trees in this island parcel. As far as the brush growth, it was never the intentions of the park department during my service on the commission to cut the brush, grow grass and maintain that parcel of land. In fact, it hasn't been done in fifty years? The park department does pick up the litter. The signs, Mr. Hedlund, informs me were as a result of local neighborhood residents who apparently could care less about picking up after their dogs. Mr. Hedlund also stated that the park department spent some serious money to remove dead limbs and a couple of trees last Spring, but a thorough cleanout was never and has never been petitioned for previously - at least for the few years I sat on the board?
TA Neighbor appears to be misinformed and mistating realities.
