This crew with a few exceptions are spendthrifts and have a lack of guts to take an unpopular stand, with the those who have their hands out!

New blood, some young flaming tightfisted, budget adhering, fiscally conservative, dam the torpedoes, owes no one anything, who needs them, type of man.

To the barricades taxpayers for far too long we have been used and abused by those who we voted into power over us. Where is Thomas Paine when I need him.

Limited spending, limited taxation and down with fiscal autonomy for the schools we must have control of our manifest destinies!

I imagine that the support of more cops and firemen by the Selectmen are in direct response to the school committee's recent antics.

If the school committee is fighting for what they were elected to do - provide a good education to the children of our town - then the Selectmen are right on par in this request for more hires.

The spending amounts will not change because I can't see the voters of this town ever supporting a services override. This means that the money will come from other budgets to support these requests, just like the school committees request.

At least when I spend a dollar on Police and Fire, I know that there is somebody looking out for my safety. The proposed spending from the schools provides more money to the teachers and less maoney for the students.

Does it matter?

You said that about the last group of selectmen. Then these guys will be gone, the honeymoon will last year- year and a half and you will want the new guys gone.
