David Small, Deputy Secretary of the Department of Natural resources & Environmental Control spoke at the general meeting of BHCA in January. The web site for DNREC is www.DNREC.state.de.us and there is a link to this web site on the home page of BHCA's web site. He told us that DNREC has contracted with a consultant to study the sources of the foul odors we have been experiencing the past couple of years. There are ''sniffer boxes'' at key sites in the area. The results should be available on their web page in late February, he hopes. He also reported that DNREC will not permit the expansion of the Cherry Island Land Fill at this time. They are looking at the possibility of expanding opportunities for recycling.
