A warning to all my neighbors.  Over the weekend my neighbors home on Pantina Way was broken into.  They took everything that was worth value.  He was out of town for the weekend but wait till you hear this.  On Wendesday the 24th Appx. 2:00pm a man was sleeping in his house on Sugar Bay ln.  He heard what sounded like a window rattiling and woke to find a late teen early twenties man with a semi spiked hair cut with a crow bar (that he used to pop out his screen)  opening his FRONT window and attempting to climb into his home.  Of course the man ran off, leaving a mountain dew can sitting on the window sill.  The police have been called and hopefully can get finger prints off the soda can and can catch this crook.   This is very scary for all of us but espically for the parents who have children getting off the school buses in the middle of the afternoon.  Lets all take precautions and look out for each other and our homes since our HOA never proceeded with a neighborhood crime watch program.  This is not meant to be a slam against the HOA, (maybe a wake up), but I do encourage all neighbors to try to attend the 11-11 meeting and maybe we can pitch in for some crime watch signs.  You can get 5 for $100.  If ten people show up, well we can all do the math.  If there is no money in our budget, I will pitch in ten bucks for a safer community.  Concerned on Sugar Bay.

Thanks for the good info.  I work from home and both of these things happened near my home, so I'll start watching out during the day - that probably isn't much, but better than nothing.

On the same note, I noticed a few teenage boys roaming the neighborhood late last week -- they wondered over to JR's old house and disappeared from my view in the doorway.  I don't know that they would have done anything, but after a few minutes of not being able to see them - I ran over to the house to see what was going on - they saw me and darted pretty quickly.  Maybe nothing, but hadn't seen these kids before, so it made me nervous.

I'll also give ten dollars if it will help - but I think we need more than just signs.  Is anyone willing to head this up? I would, but have two infants and work full time which just doesn't afford me the time right now.

I don`t know if we can make the meeting but count on Becky and I for ten dollars. Becky also works from home and we always try to keep an eye out for strangers or kids up to no good.

When the city merged the county and city police departments, the neighborhood crime watch section was disbanded. I don`t know if it has been reimplemented since the new Mayor took over. This might be worth checking into. We have several law enforcement officers in the community. Can one of you check into this for the neighborhood.
