I can agree with that statement. That is why if it happens, I would suggest that an access to the walkway be on the outside of the community, preferably outside the front gate to the right.

I agree that it should not be inside the community. We have enough trouble with people coming in as it is. The combination gate at the front is seldom locked. We fenced off the area that goes to the walk way to keep people from that area so why would we want a gate that won't stay locked (not to mention you can just reach through the front one and open it if you don't know the code) it would be the same with another gate.
