Communicate/Elderly Neighbors

Posted in: Cooper
Just a reminder that, if these weather conditions continue, we need to be sure our elderly neighbors are OK.

Sometimes, if they are living alone, a phone call would be a good encouragement to them.

I was delighted to learn that someone had gone to my dad's home (in another northeastern community) and helped him light the pilot light on his gas logs shortly before they lost electricity.

So .. keep warm, keep safe, keep something good cooking on the stove .. and most of all help take care of each other.

Re: Communicate

Great suggestion, Sue.

I called my mother this morning, and she was really happy to hear from someone.

She also commented on how much she appreciated her nephew, who lives nearby, calling and telling her not to go outside, but call him if she needed anything.
keep up the good work

I dont know you personally, but I want to say thank you for being a good person and caring the way you do. You are the only person I recieved a response from about my dog.
Others Responded by E-Mail

Thanks for your kind words.

I sent an e-mail to our Board as well as to a number of others in our neighborhood about your message that your dog was lost.

I got a number of responses, all who indicated they were watching and would be aware.

Others indicated that they were forwarding the information to others in the neighborhood.

So, although they were done through direct e-mail, others were involved and working to see if they could help you.

We are hoping as more and more individuals use this discussion area, that it will catch on to be a real tool for situations like this (lost dog) and others.
