So sorry about all the comotion that was stirred up about the speed bumps. Just throwing that idea out for thought.
1) I think we do need to do something abut the speeders and tailgate riders in our neighborhood. People should think before they react to such small things. Just today, I was driving slow down St. Philip Dr. with my 2 small children in back and was about to turn left into my driveway after signaling first when a red, convertible corvette apparently was so close to me that I couldn't even see him in my mirror, came flying by me on my left side to get around. He must have been in such a hurry. He almost hit me and this was not a teenager driving this vehicle. This type of behavior needs addressing as well. People JUST SLOW DOWN, IT'S NOT A RACE, WE ARE NOT ALL FORTUNATE ENOUGH TO DRIVE CARS WITH 420 + HP.
2) We must remind ourselves that we live in a very special and unique neighborhood untouched with deer and lots of other wildlife living here also and this should be respected.
3) Whether it be teenagers with their summer vandalism pranks and grown adults driving behaviors. THIS IS NOT THE INDY 500 RACE. If speed bumps decrease property values that much to be more important than the safety of our children and community, and if the majority does not like this idea then someone please feel free to come up with alternative solutions rather than disregarding the ''speed bumps or humps'' idea.
4) I love where I live and would love not to change a thing if that is possible. Maybe with full support from the community and the Bartlett Police we can keep it safe and natural.
Thank you, Michelle Mancell
