Bryan Street Neighborhood Association, Inc. filed Articles of Incorporation with the Kentucky Secretary of State December 8, 2006, as a charitable organization and received initial funding from the Hopkinsville City Council early in 2007.
The organization currently seeks tax Exempt status under federal Internal Revenue Code 501(c)(3) expecting application approval late 2007, opening the door to grant application fund raising activities. Contributions are accepted from community corporate, business, and individual levels as well as other non-profits.
Tax Exempt Activites emphasize infrastructure improvement projects such as biannual neighborhood clean-up campaigns, annual sidewalk replacement projects, and continuing building maintenace efforts while aiding law enforcement to lessen tensions by riding our neighborhood of the drug menace.
Bryan Street Neighborhood Association tries to lessen neighborhood tensions in the presence of anti-social elements through high visibility projects that establish a sense of community involvement with a "take back our streets" motto. Our residents support the infrastructure priorities of neighborhood clean-up, sidewalk replacement, and building repairs while encouraging law enforcement to rid our neighborhood of the drug menace.
Bryan Street Neighborhood Association welcomes all residents within our boundaries. There are no other membership requirements, no fees, no dues, and no obligations. Open meetings are scheduled the first Thursday of each month at Pennyrile Electric Office Building, 2000 Harrison Street, 6:00 pm.
All members, elected officers, and directors are resident volunteers working together toward commonly decided goals and objectives. Attend our next meeting and choose a project of interest to you.
