I'm disappointed

As a Strathmoor Village resident, recent threads on this board trouble me. Telling your neighbors and the people you represent to "stick your hostility up your Gladstone" is not neighborly. Nor does it reflect well on Strathmoor Village when our leaders make disparaging comments about the people they represent.

Rather than stooping to character assassination and calling your neighbors and constituents "lackeys," commissioners and want-to-be commissioners should be discussing issues. For example, our rule makers have no rules. Why doesn't Strathmoor Village have by-laws? Why aren't we discussing what by-laws would be appropriate for our Village?

Or why is our website so pathetic? Why aren't Village financials like our budget, income statement, and balance sheet posted? This is public information. Why aren't the city ordinances published on the Village Website? The "paper copy" is already out of date. Yet our website asks people to pick up this outdated version, while refusing to post the up-to-date version on our website.

Rather than Richard Speelman's ugly comments to the person asking about the million plus dollar lawsuit, why not post everything about the lawsuit on our website? That too is public information - why are we hiding it from our citizens?

In the past two years I have attended a number of commission meetings. Unfortunately, most meetings have the flavor of these postings. Rather than take care of Village buisness in a professional efficient manner, half the time is spent sniping at each other. A commissioner will "zing" Mayor Bell. Then Mayor Bell will "zing" back. It is no wonder citizens avoid these meetings.

We don't need the child's play I've witnessed at board meetings or seen on this site. Strathmoor Village needs mature professional adults looking after our Village affairs.
