On Wednesday, April 27th, there was a board meeting at which I proposed we make some changes to the Area 11 bylaws. I have discussed these changes, in broad terms, with the board and membership in the past. We are now ready to finalize them. I am proposing the following: 1. The board will change from 6 to 7 members. 2. Board terms will be changed from 2 years, beginning January 1st, to 1 year, beginning July 1st and ending June 30th. 3. Each association member shall be entitled to one vote per board vacancy, instead of just one vote. 4. Board elections shall take place at our June meeting, instead of January. This will mean that the existing board will be giving notice to resign effective June 30, 2011 and elections for the board will be held at our association meeting on June 15, 2011. Once the official wording is finalized, the board will review it. It will then be brought up for discussion at our Association meeting on May 18th. before being voted on by the current board. At this time, all current board members plan to run for reelection.
