Free, Saturday, For more informationcall Neighborhood Partnership Department at PARADE OF NEIGHBORHOODS Sunday, March 5th from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. is the Parade of Neighborhoods in St. Petersburg. This is a great opportunity to show off homes that have been remodeled and homes that are for sale. Showing off the remodeled homes is important as it give neighbors ideas on what they can do to their older homes. It also give the opportunity to show potential owners what can be done to the older homes with so much character, but maybe needing kitchen or bath updates. Having a good mix of remodeled homes and homes for sale is critical to the success of the event, and the more neighborhoods that participate, the better. We will have bus tours on March 4th, that will help build interest in your neighborhood.! Please particpate and have a headquarter location where people can stop by and get a map, a list of homes that are open, and more information on your neighborhood. A church, your meeting location, a renovated home, a house for sale, or neighborhood park can be great locations for the headquarters. In the last few months several new Neighborhood Association have form and I think we are well on our way in accomplishing this goal. The January Board Meeting was well attended and I would like to thank everyone for coming. We got a lot accomplished and think it was a good start for 2000. At this meeting Susan Stanton resigned to take a new job in Orlando. We all would like to thank Susan for all the hard work she has done and wish her the best. The Board Members elected Libby Steele to fill the vacancy and I feel that Libby will fit right in. At the February Board Meeting, we will have a presentation on the Social Agency Ordinance. February 7, we had a Summit with the Mayor and since the last meeting we believe that the Social Agency problem has been solved to everyone?’s satisfaction. Also on February 2, we had our second Visionary meeting. We also are in the process of setting up a workshop on Site Plans and what you should look for in a new site plan and when you are notified about a change. I would like to remind everyone that your 2000 membership dues are due. With out these dues it makes it harder for us to accomplish our goals. Along with your dues please send the name of your Representative and an Alternate. Also send an E-MAIL address if possible so that we can add your neighborhood to our Discussion Room list. The Discussion Room was very successful last year. See you on the February 16th at the Times Building! Your neighbor, Jim Biggerstaff Time to Renew Your Membership for 2000!
