A NEW WARNING FOR A CREDIBLE THREAT

It?’s hard to pick up a newspaper or magazine these days and not find an article about identity theft. The threat is real, and i you know someone who has been a victim, you realize what utter chaos it can make of your life.
This is a lead-in to what is unfortunately an ongoing problem in parts of our neighborhood; mail theft. It?’s not always the cable or utility or doctor bill you don?’t receive, which can be hassle enough, but some mail contains enough information for someone to drain your bank account, apply for credit in your name, and create major problems that you, the victim, will spend hours and hours untangling.

We know the thieves are among us. A locking mailbox or renting a box at the post office may be the best prevention. But some residents don?’t have those options, so let?’s all keep an eye out for our own mailboxes, as well as our neighbors?’, and report any suspicious activity we see. Be aware!. . .☺
