Redistricting: Good News—We Thi

Posted in: Bluff Heights
If you have been keeping abreast of local politics, you already know that the city has recently redrawn its districting maps. By law, the City Council is mandated to adjust these boundaries every five years to account for population shifts. Though we will stay intact as the Bluff Heights neighborhood, we will now be represented politically by two different council people. The area from between 3rd Street and Broadway and Orizaba and Redondo will be shifted to the 3rd District, under the banner of Councilman Frank Colonna. The rest will remain in Councilman Dan Baker?’s 2nd District.
Many people have asked about the impact this change will have on us. We believe that it can work to our advantage, as we will now have two people representing us at the City Council. We can get twice as much done for our community! If you have questions or concerns about this political happening, feel free to contact Catherine Morley (438-6812), whose home is now in the 3rd District. Or call Frank Colonna, 3rd District Councilman, directly, at 570-6310.
