Alternates to Fumigation

Fumigation was selected at the November meeting. Alternate methods had been considered. They were various means of local treatment, such as X-Termite's d-limonene method, and microwaves, freezing, and other chemical treatments. The four companies that submitted recommendations for fumigation had considered other methods. There were several strong reasons for not fumigating, and one over-riding reason FOR fumigation. The reason for fumigation: there were insufficient guarantees and evidence that the local treatment methods would eliminate enough termites to be considered beneficial in the long term.
