deed restrictions for fences

Posted in: Bayview Manor II
I wanted to put this out there to see if anyone felt the same way I was feeling. I would like the deed restrictions changed for the type of fences allowed in the neighborhood. I like the vinyl privace fences, but they are not allowed. In the neighborhood the builder placed wooden privacy fences blocking the back yards from Bayview manor 1. So with the builder putting privacy fences I could only imagine that there is some way for this to be changed. Just wanted to know everyones imput on this.

Deed Restrictions

Hi Dan,

When you moved into this neighborhood did you not sign the deed restrictions? I'm sure you did and had to decide ''Can I live with this''. Why is it that we committ to something, sign off on it and then want to change things. I have listened to so much nonsence in the community meetings and in these emails about the deed restrictions being changed to satisfy a few people it's rediculous. 90%of the community don't show up for these meetings because they are as I am happy with the Deed Restrictions. There were some things in the restrictions that I did not really like (the fence restriction as well)but I had to ask myself ''can I live with this'' I said yes and I'm happy. If I did not like what the restrictions were and didn't think I would be able to adhere to the restrictions, I would have never moved in this developement. Can we fight to have the Maintenance Corporation get the foxes out of the neighborhood to make sure our children are safe, build a park for the children to keep them out of the street, hire a reputal company for snow removal and keep the common areas of the development kept up to par. These may not be any issues that even concern you at all. I'm all for a good fight but I signed those deed restrictions as well as yourself and our neighbors. Is what your asking really fair to those who agreed to the deed restrictions? Is what I would like to fight for anyone else's concern? My point is we signed the Deed Restrictoins which meant we agreed with the terms and conditions of the restrictions. We should all be on one accord because we signed the documents. It was all in plain English. Dan you wanted feed back and opinions on what you put out there. I just thought I'd share mine. Good Luck!
Deed Restriction

Sharee-
While I feel you have a valid point about the foxes, I think everyone has an opinion. From what I understand the Deed Restrictions document was a basic document that was adjusted slightly for our community. As a community, we can suggest revisions to these restrictions. If someone feels that they can live with a certain type of fence, but would prefer another, we should not stop them about expressing that opinion. This web site is for our community to expresses their concerns and ask questions to their fellow neighbors and I think we should respect everyone's ability to do so. Yes, we all signed the Deed Restrictions, but does that mean we can never alter them? I know the foxes are a big issue, but from the recent meeting it was stated this is not an issue for the Maintenance Group. If you think it should be, then you can suggest that change to the Deed Restrictions, just as the garage size and fence type. I think you have valid points about the common areas, the lawn maintenance, and park for the children, but those are not the only concerns of the neighbors and I think we should let everyone express their opinion.

Just my opinion.

Deed Strictions

Alicia,

As you stated, We all have opinions and I stated my opinion based on how I felt as Dan did ask how others felt. No we all will not agree on everything or want the same things changed but it doesn't make one or the other right or wrong. He wanted to know how others felt and because I did not agree whole heartedly with him, should I have kept my opnion to myself? I don't think I was asking that no one voice their opinions and I thought I was responding to Dan's request as to how others felt. I was not expecting to get a response attacking me on my opinion as you stated we all should be able to express freely. I never said Dan was right or wrong for how he feels or what he wants to fight for, I was just merely expressing my opinion as you stated ''respect everyone's ability to do so'' I respect your opinion, or anyone who posts something on this website, weather I agree or disagree. So it appears you don't Respect mine. By the way ''Dan'' if you feel I was attacking you or disrespected your opinion, please accept my apology that certainly was not my intentions. I was only expressing my opinion
