NEISD POLICE DEPT HOTLINE
NEISD Police Department has implemented a School Safety Hotline to provide for students, school personnel, and members of the community. This is an ANONYMOUS way to report suspected illegal, dangerous, or harmful activities. The hotline is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, just call it to help keep NEISD schools, students, & communities safe.

RECYCLING
Please continue to recycle your clean paper up at Camelot Elementary or Ed White Middle School. The schools receive money for the recycled paper-the dollar amount is based on the weight (by ton) of the paper recycled. The more we recycle with them, the more money they will receive to be used to purchase much-needed items for the schools. ONLY the following items are to be recycled in the school bins: Newspapers, Magazines, Shopping Catalogs, Mail, Office Paper, Self-stick Notes, Computer Paper, Posters and Folders, Fax Paper, Envelopes, and Cereal Boxes, No plastic, soda containers, or card board boxes.

DO YOU WANT TO GIVE BACK?
Our schools still need volunteers and mentors. It not too late to give of yourself and change a child's life. If you can make just a little time available a week or month, they could use your knowledge, kindness, and expertise.


ROOSEVELT HIGH SCHOOL NEWS

Progress Reports will go out around
February 1, 2001, with report cards following about 3 weeks later.
February 20, 21, 22, 2001 we will be TAAS Testing. All Sophomores, Freshman, must be at school all day each of those testing days. Juniors & Seniors who have not passed a section need to be at school testing on the correct days. If your child is a Junior or Senior who has passed TAAS, they should report to school at 12:00 noon during those 3 days. Call the school to verify or ask questions about these important days.
The new sign at Roosevelt looks great!! We are proud of the Blue Ribbon Award Winning Roosevelt Roughriders!! Check with the school for important dates and information.

IMPROVE OUR SCHOOLS
CINA has received comments that Camelot Elementary's playground equipment is old and very limited compared to other elementary schools. If you would like Camelot Elementary to have new playground equipment just call the NEISD Superintendent's Office at: 804-7000 and call Camelot Elementary at 564-1775.
A few years ago some of the equipment was painted by a young man for his scout project, otherwise there have not been many improvements done. Exercise is important to our young people.
Call 804-7000 to suggest improvements at any of our schools. The residents are our community, and our community cares about our young people. "It takes a village to raise a child." Take action and let's make a difference!!
