Code Compliance will be doing a sweep of the neighborhood soon. They will also be checking the alleyways. To stay within code and to help keep our neighborhood nice, here are some hints:
1. Do not block the sidewalks. Sidewalks should be totally free from cars, boats, trailers, plants, and debris. There have been complaints of brush put out when there is not a brush pickup planned soon, and that limbs are blocking the sidewalks. Vehicles or other things should not be blocking the sidewalk. Keep plants and trees trimmed around the sidewalk so that children and adults will be safe when using the sidewalks.
2. Tree limbs hanging above the roads should be no lower than 14 feet above the surface.
3. Front and back yards should not have grass or weeds above 12 inches.
4. Alleyways should be clear of weeds and kept trimmed. Remember to keep this area free of debris and bring in your trashcans.
5. Junk cars are prohibited.
6. Keep your back yard as well as your front yard neat and clean.
7. Maintain the area between the sidewalk and the street.
8. Keep the area in front of your curb clean.
You can anonymously report a violation to the city by calling 207-7230. If you receive a notice from Code Compliance that you are in violation of a code, Beth Weaver's name may appear on that notice. Beth has nothing to do with Code Compliance and her name only appears because she is the President of CINA. Remember the CINA notices are different than the city's. Our CINA Code Compliance Committee does occasional sweeps as a neighborly way to inform you that you are out of code.
