Canyon Retreat subdivision is a neighborhood with unusually well defined boundaries. We are mainly along Silverwood and Amberwood bounded by 28th St. at Canyon Vista Park on the east and by 24th St. on the west. Chandler Blvd. is just to the north.
Originally the neighborhood was subdivided by Dividend who laid out 148 lots and built about half the homes. When they bowed out in 1991 the project was completed by Shea. I count 143 homes in the satellite photo shown here. (If you would like to retreive this image right-click on it and save it to disk. Much more detail can be seen by enlarging and zooming in on it using a program capable of reading jpg files.) Neighborhoods are often named after seemly fictitious geographical features. Although "Canyon" may be a slight exaggeration, our neighborhood is neatly nestled into the narrow valley formed by small desert mountains to the north and south.
There is no Canyon Retreat neighborhood association. Visit the Mountain Park Ranch homeowners' association web page by using the hotlink under "Community Hotlinks" on the CRN home page. Also see comments under the "Canyon Retreat Neighbors Newsletter" item on the CRN home page.
