Social Time - 6:30 to 7:00 Potluck, bring your family and a dish to share.

Speakers:
Tamra Saltzman, COO with Lighthouse Full Gospel Baptist Church - Spoke of outreach programs at the church located at 1600 Capitol.
Tim Fricke, DMPD Traffic Unit - asked if neighbors had any traffic concerns (will research issues of customers leaving QT and driving the wrong way on E15 to Capitol Street)
Dennis O'Donnell, DMPD Victim Resource Officer - Spoke of his position
Jim Deeds, Public Works - Handed out parking flags to be used in aiding of snow removal this winter. You can also report issues with pot holes, sidewalks and large trash items on the parking 515-283-4950.
Officer John Saunders, DMPD Boxing Club - spoke of events at the East Side Boxing Club. Currently seeking donations of golf clubs. Children 12 - 18 yrs can work out at the club for free. Cost of $20 for those interested in competitive boxing.
Brian Mayers, DSM City Council - Heard concerns over a dog kennel proposed for 1828 East Dean.

Old Business:
Peggy Ingram passed around calendar requesting monthly volunters to host monthly meals.
Kimberly Douglass & Lacy Smith spoke of the two families we are providing holiday food baskets for on November 21st. Donation sign up sheets was routed & cash & food donations were accepted.
Nadine Holgate spoke of Committee responsibilities and passed around committee sign up sheet.

New Business:
Nadine Holgate requested volunteers to begin a "door knocking" campaign in the neighborhood to invite guest and hear neighbors concerns and hopes for the neighborhood.
Peggy Ingram took up donations for the Shoes that Fit program. We have been give two children from Moore Elementary. The Boy needs a new winter coat and the Girl has requested warm hat, scraf and mittens.
Mira Miller shared an invitation the neighborhood recieved to tour The Rose an assistant living facility at 1331 Idaho on Saturday Nov 15 1 - 5 p.m.
Lia Miller read changes to the Capitol East Neighborhood Association By-Laws. They were approved by members present.

NO MEETING IN DECEMBER
NEXT MEETING JANUARY 14, 2009 @ Capitol View School.
