Minutes for September 9, 2009

The meeting was preeded with delicious meal of beefburgers, chips, and lemonaid furnished by Jeff & Jeannie Tibbets.

 

Scott Sargent explained the trouble arising from an odor emitted from the soutside. Darling Inc./National By-Products was not responsible for the stink that was broadcast last month. He encouranged anyone smelling bad odors to call 515-681-6201 or 515-265-0381. Councilman Brian Meyers was pleased the Darling Company representatives were addressing the problem.

 

Sgt. Brent Harris reported all quited in the neighborhood and distributed a map of incidents. Officer Tim Fricke encouraged us to take down garage sale signs that anyone leaves past date of sale.

 

Candidates running for City Council position of Councilman-At-Large seat were each introduced. Skip Moore lives on the eastide and has wored for the city for 34 years. Other candidates introduced were Cyndi Chen and Leisha Barcus. The election is on November 3rd. Please Vote!!!

 

Meredith representative, Liz Cox is chairperson for the October Weatherization projects and the ones who signed up need to attend classes.

 

Jean Schooley gave the treasurer's report.

 

Last two Scrub days are October 17th and the 31st - use Harriet Street or Transfer Station.

 

We want to thank Russ Darr, Parks & Recreation, for the huge job he will have when Meredith employees help us rejuvenate our parks, October 8th & 9th.
