Does anyone know if the Brooklyn Cohousing project (www.brooklyncohousing.org) has done any outreach in the community which it has "selected" as the target for its development (Carlton & Dekalb), aside from to recruit new members? Has anyone in the neighborhood been contacted, or has any representative from the group approached the community board or other community organizations regarding their input on the project's presence in the neighborhood?
If this organization is so community oriented, why haven't they done more to communicate with the community on which they now plan on imposing themselves?
Does this project require community board/landmarks approval? I know that some of the many previously-failed incarnations of development at this site have received approval (but failed on the funding side) - does that approval transfer to this project, or will additional approval be required due to the unique nature of this project?
