Weeds Help!!

Posted in: Castlegate
I would like to know if anyone has any answers on how to get the HOA to have weeds removed from a yard. The house number is 3630 E.Camden ave owned by the Drysdales, and house number 3555 also E.Camden Ave owned by papa Drysdale( funny the apple dosn't fall far from the tree). These two houses are overgrown with weeds and have been for almost a year, dozens of emails to the HOA nothing has been done. Does anyone know how to get the HOA to take some action other than we are working on it and we are going to fine them, it is apparent that what ever it is they are working on does not work and fines are a waste of time for these people.

Ok....I will verify these two addreses with my delinquent reports. If there is a history of fines for the same reason, the HOA has the ability to significantly raise the fines for the same violation. The board members cannot legally discuss any account with the members of the community (privacy reasons), but I will investigate these two addreses. Legally we cannot go onto the property without the owners permission, that would be trespassing. And unfortuneatly, we cannot file a lien based on fines. I know you don't want to hear it, but all we can do is continue to fine a repeat violator. I will also look into what further action, if any, can legally be taken.

Thanks for the clarification I have records of over 25 email complaints to the HOA, whether it was acted upon is a different story. Can the HOA ask for permission to go on the property? What I am having trouble acceptimg is why do you even fine the homeowners if there is nothing the HOA can do. Why are we paying the fee's? ( for landscaping ).
I guess it comes down to the homeowners of this community can have a free for all and do anything they want, why because the HOA has no power to put a lien on your property for unpaid fines for violations. I hope all of you in this community now know that the HOA can not do much and your fee's are going nowhere.

Funny you post this, you too must live on Camden. I sent an email this morning myself, which I am sure will be passed over just like all the others.

I drive by that mess everyday and seriously can not believe the conditions. I only can imagine what the inside looks like. I do know that in the past they haven't paid their assessments so why pay a fine or clean their yard. 3630 still has xmas lights in their so-called trees and what's with all the rocks lined up? The parent's house is just as bad with all the cars, the oil in the street and drive and the lack of landscape in the front yard. If they don't stop parking on that corner, someone is going to hit a child because you can't see around the truck or van when its parked there. My only saving grace is that I live at the opposite end of the street. I feel for those right around them, especially the one who's trying to sell their house.

As a former HOA VP, I do know its difficult to get people to pay their fines but we must have an accelerated policy that can be enforced. Now that people's houses can't be liened or taken for not paying their fines they don't care. Where is the pride?

I'd be curious to know where our outstanding unpaid fines stand at? Seeing the condition of the entire community I'm sure its pretty high. Really, what are we paying the management company to do anyway. I would surely hope that the community manager does inspections on a weekly or semi weekly basis to catch these. If not, we are wasting our money with them.
