I guess you have missed my points I have made on each subject. I had asked Oasis for my refund long before last meeting, I only brought it up again at the meeting because Brett was in attendance. It also took another e-mail to obtain my refund. Yes I could have had the amount deducted from my next payment, but that was not the point. The point I was making is Oasis (our management company) made a mistake. The mistake they made was putting an incorrect amount on the payment book The solution that Oasis wanted was for our community to pay for new payment books, or let everyone go into their account and see how much was due back to them and make the adjustments. ACCOUNTABILITY is the word here. Oasis is not taking accountability for there actions. If a company bills you incorrectly do you really feel it is right for you to find this wrong and then chase the company until it is corrected?
As far as the Community money goes, the Treasures report was just posted a day or two ago. If you have taken the time in looking at ALL the finacial statements for all the previous months and do a audit on the records you will find many many errors. This means money missing. Look at the budget and compair it to what is being paid. THIS IS YOUR MONEY and it is being waisted or lost. Since Oasis has taken over, bills are being put into wrong areas on the financial statements, the numbers were being rounded up. If you know how to balance your check book you would know how this would affect your balances.
In response to your third paragraph. Your exactly right, I do not like Oasis, I don't like Brett, I don't like our current President or Vice-Present. Reason for what each and every one of them have done and not done in the past. I want you to remember that 5 years ago we had over $400,000.00 in the bank, just a few months ago we had $17,000.00. Wondering if you feel it was ok for AIG to dish out Millions of dollars in Bonuses to the leaders of there company after the tax payer bailed them out. Now the HOA board does not receive any funds for the position or compensation at all, my point being if you have a bad leader get rid of them. I refuse to wait until November for a change. I am really sorry to also let you know but from the people that I have talked with in the Community your in the minority. I have walked around the Community and 99.8% of the people that I have talked with agree with getting rid of our current President and Vice-President. Of that 99.8% over 50% (without me mentioning Oasis) also stated to me, and Oasis needs to go too.
I am sorry you have lost your job. If you really think about this you will understand I am not doing any of this for my benefit but yours. You really think if we replaced Oasis with another management company they would not work with you on paying your dues? I believe many management companies are working with homeowners that are in your situation. Oh btw every month that goes by I lose over $500.00, renting my home in Castlegate. I did not want to own two homes, but I couldn't sell it. I could have let it go back to the bank, what would that have done to the value of your home? Yup the value of your home drops every time a bank forcloses on a home in your area.
I feel I am being constructive. I could sit back and wait for 3 years to where the house prices go back up so that I can sell my house and be done with Castlegate. However I still have friends that live there, I have a financial interest there and I do care about what goes on in Castlegate. I have spent hours and hours on looking into financial, talking with people that live in Castlegate, getting there opinions, going to as many meetings as I can possibly attend. There are two types of people in this world. One that would take back the Spicy Chicken sandwich to Burger King because they ordered and paid for a Whopper and one that wouldn't. Which one are you?
