This neighborhood is beset with problems that will prove difficult for any individual to solve. I hope the activists who are so disgruntled with the current board of directors and management company will do more than just talk. Stand for election, run a campaign and see if you can motivate the 95% of homeowners who don't seem to care.
In the meantime how about a little community activism in the form of some personal work. Knock down the yard weeds in the empty house next door before they go to seed, run your mower over 'em! Put some water on those annual plants so they don't die. Roundup ain't cheep but it works good. Show your neighbors how to use it. How about a bit of help picking the trash off of the roads or sweeping rocks back into yards. Move your lazy neighbor's trash can back for them. Take the messy flyers off of the mailboxes. That is how individuals can make a difference in our neighborhood. Who knows, your example may motivate others.
I haven't cleaned up Ocotillo Rd for a few months just to see if somebody else would... suprise, suprise! I'll be out there early Saturday (5/2) morning and I hope to see that the talkers can do more than just talk.
