Our annual meeting is this month 10/23/10 in the park on Simonton across from the school. Ballots have been sent out and an election committee will be knocking on your door this month to collect ballots and answer questions. Ballots can also be mailed in or dropped off in person at the meeting. The only purpose of the annual meeting is to count ballots, so there will not be any discussion topics other than the results of the voting.
I am running for re-election and there is also one open seat on the board. Here is my bio:
Hi, I’m Mike, the current Castlegate Board President. I’ve lived in the community since 2005 and have served on the Board of Directors as Treasurer and most recently as President for the past year. In my year as President and under my leadership, the board has been fiscally responsible, we’ve established a reserve fund, and the association now has a substantial monetary buffer in our operating account. In the past year the board drastically cut the communities spending in several areas including community management, landscape services, and other miscellaneous contracting services. I’ve forged valuable relationships with local HOA’s in which we exchange ideas and brainstorm solutions to common problems on a monthly basis. I’m pushing for a five-year plan that includes scheduled maintenance, improvements, and morale boosting activities for all of our residents. I worked closely with the budget committee both last year and this year. Our efforts have resulted in a surplus budget in 2010 and a proposed balanced budget that includes a fully funded reserve account in 2011. As a homeowner and board member, I have our communities best interest in mind and seek your vote for re-election.
