Halloween damage done by kids

The new message board that was installed at the corner of Castlegate Blvd & Rousay across from the school was spray painted along with the sidewalks and a few other things, also VHS tape was strung all over the place.

I just thought some one might like to know, we picked up a lot of the VHS tape last night and through it away.

It seems like the more renters we get the more trouble we get, things have sure changed since we first moved here.

I'm calling the cops constantly about the atv's and dirt bikes tearing up and down the streets, but NO ONE ELSE seems to care and/or call.

We have actually talked about selling our house and moving!

Wow that is horrible. I haven't driven by that way yet so haven't seen the damage.

I wouldn't hesitate to call the cops and report any of the activity you mentioned.

Unfortunately though, this type of thing seems to happen everywhere. I just moved here several months ago from Mesa and kids were constantly vandalizing our community center, stealing equipment, and taking down our subdivion signs. Right after the HOA would put up a new sign, it would get vandalized again. Very frusterating.

We even had some stuff stold off our porch last night and I would call the Sheriff, but I feel like they are getting tired of me calling and sending emails.

Plus the stuff that was stolen was just little things and a whole bucket of candy we had left for the kids, while we went around the neighborhood trick or treating with our kids.

We were just a little upset that this kind of stuff is happening in our neighborhood!

I've been here for 5 years and the first year I tried the "just take one" for candy for Halloween as my husband was working and I had to take my little one trick-or-treating. It doesn't work...but it doesn't work anywhere really so I wouldn't say that's just here. Since then, I just ask a neighbor if they'd mind passing out my candy and I put a note on my door saying "trick-or-treating...candy next door" with an arrow or candy across the street or wherever I've left it. I've had good luck with that the past 4 years and everyone's always been very nice and understanding about it. So just an idea for future years for you. As someone else said it's a shame for sure but it happens everywhere. I have friends/family all over the country and we all complain about the same thing, so it's not just this subdivision or even Arizona. Honestly I'd say this is one of the better subdivisions around and is more stupid kid pranks more so than big things (for the most part obviously not all of it). Lack of supervision of kids and lack of activities for kids to participate in is a big culprit I think. I'd recommend you send an e-mail to the HOA or Oasis and notify them of the damage to the HOA sign (if you haven't already) and they should get someone out to take care of it.
