Block Watch

Posted in: Castlegate

I posted this on the marketplace group too however I know some of you here aren't members of that so hitting up everywhere I can:

If I were to help get the block watch going again, is there anyone out there who would be willing to help me out?  With a full time job, kid, and extra circulars I can't do it 100% by myself, but if there were 2-4 of us then we just might be able to get it up and going again.

Anyone interested please e-mail me back here and we'll see what we can do.

Thanks!
E-mail me at Mommie2One4Ever@aol.com if you can help out.  I'd like to try and get it up and going again around the 1st of the year.

Is this seperate from the COP program that I just signed up for, because I will help out as much as possible.

Yes it is different.  Block watch is neighbors that look out for each other and look out for others on their particular street and such.  There's an officer that heads it up as well so I have put in an e-mail to her and if I don't hear back from her this week I will call her after the Thanksgiving holiday.  They used to do monthly meetings and she would have information on major crime that was happening in the subdivision (car thefts, home invasions, home break ins, etc) and ways to help keep it from happening.

Block Watch is more geared towards making each individual home safe to help stop home and vehicle break ins, educate people on how to keep their home from being a target, etc.  The COP program is to get people to actually patrol the neighborhood to look for suspicious activity that is going on.

Here's a link to Pinal County's site that explains Block Watch a little bit more:

So if you're still interested please shoot me an e-mail.  I won't be starting anything officially until after the holidays since I know so many folks are busy, out of town, etc but I'm collecting e-mail addresses of folks willing to help so that we can hopefully get this off the ground a bit more after the 1st of the year.

I have five kids myself and want to make this neighborhood as safe as possible for not just them but everyone who lives here, so I will help in any way I can and give as much time as I can!

Thank you

Tim
