Homes are being broken into in mid afternoon. Apparently they watch the area and when they see people leave their homes they break in. I have been watching for strangers and cars I know don't belong on our street.

There have been two break-ins on our street in the last few months - One home has been vacant for some time, the other home occupied only during the winter months.  Not sure what/how much was taken, but definately a little too close to home.

It is worth noting that neither home has lights left on at any time, and neither home has a security system - Both were easy targets.

We are with Monitronics, and have been happy with their service.  Also, we recently spent a few bucks and added Brinks motion-activated security floodlights in back and side yards.  Garage / porch lights are left on when it is dark.  Just some simple things to keep us and our property safe.

As they say, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.....
