Public Health District offers extended hours for back to school vaccinations

ABILENE, Texas – The Abilene-Taylor County Public Health District is offering back to school vaccinations during extended hours through August 22.  Vaccines are available Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.  No appointment is necessary and walk-ins are welcome.  On August 2 vaccinations will be offered during further extended hours from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

 

Without the required vaccinations listed below, students will not be allowed to attend school:

Head Start or Kindergarten- Up to date shot record

7th graders- Tdap, Varicella and Meningitis vaccinations

College students under the age of 30 years entering an institution of high education beginning January 1, 2012 - Meningitis vaccination.  Please check with your institution of higher education for current requirements for meningitis vaccinations.

 

Vaccinations for children 18 and under cost a total of $8 per person; prices for adult vaccinations will vary.  Those needing vaccinations are required to bring their shot record.

 

The Abilene-Taylor County Public Health District is located at 850 North 6th St.
