Challenger Park Townhomes

I have had the same mailbox since Sept. 1985 and it is looking pretty shabby, despite efforts to paint and repaint. The post has started to fall apart and the mailbox itself has seen much better days. I feel that many of our mailboxes are now eyesores. May we put in our own mailboxes and posts to make them look better?
What is the reason for everyone having the same mailbox? I come from the east where everyone is free to choose their own mailbox.

Thanks for your inquiry about the mailboxes. You are welcome to put in a new mailbox, but it must follow the covenant rules. The reason that everyone needs to have the same mailboxes is to keep the community looking nice. Below are the guidelines for mailboxes, quoted from the covenants. If you have any questions, please let me know.

''All Mail Boxes shall be red in color, and mounted on 4'' x 6'' cedar posts, in accordance with established designs recommended by the Architectural Committee.''
