I believe I agree with you on all counts Chris.  The HOA president used to weigh in on issues here and there on this board, but I haven't heard from her in a while, assuming it's still a 'her'.  I noticed yesterday as I was walking through Willoughby Station that their HOA placed flyers on everyone's mailboxes to notify them of the upcoming HOA meeting.  I think that's a good idea, as is posting it on this website, but not everyone checks this site frequently enough, or maybe at all.  They could easily post the HOA regulations on the site as well, not quite sure why they haven't done it.  Maybe some of the older residents are grandfathered in under a different set of rules, I seem to remember another thread touching on that, and they don't want to start another fued!

Hey guys, I received a copy of the Hickory Hills Winter 2008 Newsletter and Standard Guidelines through the mail today. I have lived here over a year and this is the first time I have seen either. Maybe it's coincidence, maybe it's reactionary, hopefully it's a start!  Chris & Thad, I agree with your posts regarding Communication, if there is an upcoming meeting posted on here, let's use word of mouth to communicate it to our other neighbors.

Not, to kick a dead horse, but I don't think there is not a lot of whining adults here, but rather neighbors discussing issues that directly affect our property value. Why are we attacking each other and getting defensive? We are just talking about grass cutting, we are also talking about front yard eye sores, trash in the roads, etc. Previous posters have said that this is not a big issue and that this established neighborhood is not going down hill. In contradiction, I also received a letter today from the homeowners association stating that "little things have added up to adversely affect the value of homes in Hickory Hills". I understand that many of us were not trying to be very confrontational, but we need to watch how we word our comments. Now that we have received this newsletter, it should put to rest all of these issues.
