Your email is very heartening for the people who live in the communities along Elm Lane. It will be wonderful to be able to walk or ride our bikes to the new ''Four Mile Creek Greenway''. The White Oak community had hoped for a direct connection to the Greenway, though the direct connection did not happen the new sidewalk would accomplish nearly the same effect. Because Elm Lane is a winding road with limited sight distance the new sidewalk will enable us to safely get to the new greenway. The new sidewalk will not only have an impact on White Oak but will also enable access to the greenway via the sidewalk by five other communities.
I am very pleased the bonds were approved in the 11-7-2006 elections and the additional funding is now available. Is there anything the residence in this area can do to further ensure we remain number 16 or higher on the list of identified sidewalks for thoroughfare needs?
